San Francisco Japanese-English Toastmasters
A bilingual Toastmasters club (Club 7025 Area 3 Division D District 4 Region II)

About our Club
San Francisco Japanese-English Toastmasters (or "SF JETs") offers its members a fun and friendly forum for improving their public speaking skills in both English and Japanese. Our core activity is to improve our members' public speaking skills by delivering and evaluating speeches in both English and Japanese.
When and Where Do We Meet?
We meet at the Japan Society of Northern California,
500 Washington Street (at Sansome) in downtown San Francisco
On the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Fridays of every month from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
The meetings last two hours, and we have sessions in both languages at each meeting. After the meeting we go out for a light dinner (nijikai). Come and join us!
What are the members like?
Of our 45 or so JETs members, approximately half are native English speakers and half are native Japanese speakers. Our members come from a variety of professions and we also have some students.
Any requirements to join? Like being bilingual?
Your Japanese or English doesn't need to be perfect, but you should feel comfortable communicating in both languages. If you are not sure whether your Japanese or English is sufficient, please come as a guest and listen in on a meeting. Please remember that we are a speech club -- not a language instruction class.
How much does it cost to join?
For new members there is an initial membership fee of $21.75 (including tax) which covers the cost of the Competent Communicator manual. Regular dues of $42 are collected every 6 months, usually in September and March.
Can I visit and sit in on meetings?
Of course! We'd love to have you as a guest.
